PhD and Postdoctoral Open Positions in our laboratory in the following topics:
Broadband spatial geometric-phase modulation from Bragg-Berry mirrors.
- Constructing a theoretical model for light propagation in chiral liquid crystal (CLC) films with different configurations, including gradient pitch, additional defect layers, and combinations of CLCs and conventional mirrors.
- Conducting experimental investigations on beam mode conversion by CLC films with and without a defect layer.
- Examination of different photo-alignment technologies, such as UV-sensitive photo-alignment, Chalcogenide semiconductor surface for controlling alignment layer, light-sensitive molecular motors on the surface of CLC.
Liquid crystal deep neural architectures.
- Developing computers that can combine, learn, and analyze vast amounts of information quickly and efficiently, which is becoming increasingly important.
- Realizing a scalable, power-efficient, and computationally fast analog neural network using a nonlinear liquid crystal (LC) as an analog hidden layer in our optical architecture.
- Comparing and analyzing the obtained results with modern computing technologies in complex testing tasks.
Large-scale coherent optical matrix multiplications.
- Creating a new optical computing technology capable of performing large-scale and low energy-consuming linear algebraic operations compared to existing CPU, GPU, and TPU technologies in this field.
